My name is Lucy and I am the founder of Lateral Haze. I'm a storyteller, writer and teacher based between London and New York. My current mission is to empower females and the feminine within our world.
The name Lateral Haze sums up my love for something I'm calling "storytelling within consciousness." I love to connect the dots between the known and the magical/mysterious - whether it be between storybook and meditation, nature and song, archetype and performance, or cultural phenomenon and its mystical underpinnings.
I write about Feminism, Goddess Culture and The Divine Feminine for The Numinous. I am also an advocate for women's equality, diversity and the environment. My recognition as a writer and a women's coach has seen me recently feature in W Magazine's video for International Women's day, and a recent campaign face alongside Vivienne Westwood for a sustainable fashion launch with Friends of the Earth. A few years ago - before I started working as a healing practitioner or teacher, I was working as a fashion editor. I had my own online magazine that was endorsed by Vogue and I had an award for creativity from The Guardian. I still like to write about feminism, sustainability and self-expression, recently delivering a talk at The FIT Museum in New York, entitled "Fashion and the Wild Woman."
Aside from storytelling, I am passionate about two things above all: the breathe and sound. Conscious storytelling cannot exist without also working with the body. Three years ago I trained as a Reiki Sound Healer and I am now trained also as a Breathwork facilitator. Integrating storytelling with somatic healing modalities, I hold workshops, healing sessions and women's circles at venues, such as Maha Rose, The Alchemist Kitchen and RA MA Yoga Institute in New York - and She's Lost Control and The Feminist Library in London.
